I recently finished reading the book Dreamland by Sarah Dessen. Dreamland is unlike any other Sarah Dessen book that I have read. It is different because, it isn't a boy meets girl, love story. It is about how the main character Caitlin changes in many different ways when she starts dating Rogerson. Rogerson does not get the approval from any of Caitlin's friends, in fact he gets the opposite. All her friends think that Rogerson is a bad influence on Caitlin. I think that they think that because Rogerson is a drug dealer and he takes Caitlin along with him as their dates.
Caitlin has these neighbors Boo and Stewart that are part of their extended family. Boo and Stewart are like a second pair of parents to Caitlin and her sister Cass (short for Cassandra). One of the reasons why Dreamland is unlike any other book of Sarah Dessen's that I have read is because of Rogerson. Rogerson is an intense guy, he is always on time and he absolutely hates it when he has to wait on people. The next reason is because her writing style is different. In one of the other books I read, all the problems that were in the book were at the beginning. In Dreamland, it is all though the book. This is my favorite book so far that I have read this year. It is a great book for all types of readers. I got this book from Ms. Tabor.

Book Review #2: Just Listen
I am almost to the end of reading the book Just Listen by Sarah Dessen. When I first started reading the book, it was really hard to keep reading the book. Even though the first part of the book was boring, as I kept reading, i began to learn more about everything that is happening in the book. Her sister has an eating problem and she has been hiding it from her family for a while. She recently fell out with her friend Sophie who has the reputation of a tough-cookie and if you mess with her, you better runaway to a different continent!
I really enjoy reading Sarah Dessen's books because they are well written and in all the books that I have read of hers, they all have the same high schools and they all flow together in some weird way. In the book the main character (Annabel Greene) has no friend for the first part of the book but, later starts to talk to this guy Owen that absorbs himself in music. Owen keeps giving Annabel these CD's and tells her to "just listen" (hence the title). Annabel is also a model and hates how people stereotype all models and say that they have everything. Sarah makes almost all her books interesting and I was recommended this book and I am now recommending to all of you.
